Every website promises the moon, and then when you want to know how much it’ll cost to actually get it done, you’re directed to a “get a quote!” form that gives no answers – and don’t get us wrong, we have one of those too (a necessary evil) for you to tell us exactly what you want us to do. But we want you to know the baseline costs up-front. At SecondSafe, we want to talk turkey, not bullshit.
What’s your Hourly Rate?
It’s $200/hour. Or about the cost of a plumber.
See here for the 2025 rate for a plumber where we’re based. If you want us to work for you, that’s our general going rate. And yes, we do have lower rates, and higher ones. We also prefer to scope work so that you know what you’ll pay ahead of time, but to keep things simple, if you want us to do “IT stuff, please!” with no other info, that’s what we charge.
We understand that tackling IT is challenging. For all our work, we offer a free half-hour consultation to sit down and talk with you to scope the work and deliverables involved, and make sure we’re a good fit for your needs.

$250/hour
One of the thing’s we’re most passionate about is fixing Systemic or multi-system issues that cost you time and money but are “too hard” to dig out of or even objectively analyze – the scope is too wide for it to be a simple project. There’s nothing more helpful then a fresh set of eyes and a voice of experience. This category also encompasses more pressing issues – that essential, monolithic SQL server from 2003 that’s on life support. Critical software/hardware failure from long-dead companies. That database/website/CRM maintained by that one guy who just retired and wrote nothing down about it. Ransomware attack recovery. We’ve seen it all, and we will work with you to get you out of the wilderness.
We understand that this kind of work is especially daunting. As such, we offer a free hour to discuss and scope the work and deliverables for issues of this type.
$200/hour
When you need something new built, but it doesn’t involve one of our existing products, that’s a project – and it’s our bread and butter. Thanks to the wide ranging experience of our team, the list of things we can’t do is shorter then what we can. Here are some examples of what we do:

- Server Co-Location
- Office Moves
- Custom Software development
- Backup and Security audits
- MDM deployment
- MFA/SSO integration
- Database and Reporting services setup and integration

$150/hour
At SecondSafe, we have a number of products we’re very proud of, and we stand behind them! Part of what that means is that we will install and set up the product(s) you buy so that when we hand them over to you (along with our documentation packet), all you need to do is “turn the key.” Because this is well defined work with infrastructure we support (and run internally!) we charge a lower rate and typically charge less hours than a comparable project implementation.

Field Network Services encompasses a lot! Here are some examples:
- Deploying a new WiFi network
- Installing a camera system and NVR
- Setting up internet at a small business/satellite office
- Configuring a fax line
Basically anything for small businesses and/or satellite offices that you need done by a professional, that doesn’t fit one of our other categories.
This does not cover emergency outages or break/fix troubleshooting.
